Ombelles is not a common pattern.  It's a very pretty flower that resembles a peacock feather.  Translated it is umbel, of which wild carrot is an example.  The colors in this vase are prettier than the usual examples.  Nice size at 12¼".  Signed.  Mint condition.

The Ombelles pattern in Le Verre Francais glass is one of my favorites. It looks like a peacock feather, but it actually refers to umbels, or the umbrella-like patterns of certain flowers like yarrow or milkweed. It's colorful and playful. Nice size at 9½" tall. Signed. Mint condition.

Trees are very rare in Le Verre and together with animals are the most desirable subject matter.  This is a superb example of Palmiers in blue.  In addition, the shape is wonderful and a rarity, as it's square with rounded corners.  This vase will only make a good collection better.  12½".  Signed.  Mint condition.

Recently I've been lucky to be able to acquire some of the rarest models of Le Verre Francais.  Any model with trees is rare and this one is no exception.  Rare design, great color.  6¾" tall x 6½" diameter.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Any Le Verre Francais vase with trees is good, but some are better than others.  This example of Palmiers Blues has everything going for it -- great color, wonderful shape and super size.  The blue trees are deep and rich and the sky-blue mottling in the background is gorgeous.  The shape is flattened, not round, and that's a wonderful variation.  The size is 15", so it's quite substantial.  For the best collections.  Shouldn't last long.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Anything with trees is rare in Le Verre Francais.  This example of Palmiers Bleus has a lot going for it.  It's moderately large at 12¼".  The square shape with rounded corners and a foot is very fine.  The color is strong.  Can't ask for better.  Signed.  Mint condition.

The rarest and best subject matter for Le Verre Francais vases are animals or trees. Flowers are the most common.

This example, called Palmiers Bleus (that's French, not a misspelling), is nothing short of spectacular. The blue color, really indigo, is intense, against a light blue mottled background with a hint of yellow. Plus the shape is really rare and great, with a rounded square mouth. 

At 11¼", it's substantial in size and will make any collection better. Etched signature "Le Verre Francais" along the top of the foot rim and cameo signature "Charder" in the background, toward the bottom.

Palmiers is one of the rarest patterns. This is a beautiful example in yellow. 7½" tall. Signed. Mint condition. (#51225)

This is such a pretty decoration and with two deep purple handles on a great form, this is an exceptional example.  Nice size at 10".  Signed.  Mint condition. 

Poissons decoration is close to the holy grail of Le Verre Francais.  This example is a fine and rare miniature, 3½" tall.  The color is vivid and the condition is mint.  Signed.

Rare fish decoration. Vibrant coloration, sharp cutting and excellent detail. The entire base is green which makes the growing plants more interesting. Very nice size at 8½" tall x 7" diameter. The signature is acid etched on the foot "Le Verre Francais" + "FRANCE OVINGTON" acid etched underneath. This vase is circa 1925. There is a stable crack on the inside layer of glass toward the bottom of the vase, 1½" long. It does not go through to the outside of the vase. It is only visible from the outside of the vase on close inspection. Otherwise the condition is perfect. In perfect condition, this vase would sell for over $10,000. (#21019)

This is a wonderful example of a Le Verre Francais pitcher. The shape is standard for Le Verre, but it's special, nonetheless, because of the great applied snake handle.
