It's difficult to tell you how special this vase is, but I'll try. 

First, it's unique. It's got the fanciest signature and date of production, Feb. 15th, 1898 -- an incredible rarity. It's also signed by Louis Tiffany in his own hand, Louis C. Tiffany. The fancy engraving at the top has two initials before Tiffany that are difficult to read because the initials are so fancy, but they don't appear to be L.C. Perhaps they're a relative's initials, which would indicate Louis Tiffany gave the vase as a gift.

The workmanship is beautiful and special. It has chain-type iridescent decoration around the top third of vase. Below that it's pinched in three sections, creating indentations that make it easy to hold. It's a stunning vase, in a perfect cabinet size of 7¾". Mint condition.

The workmanship on this lovely Tiffany Favrile blue vase is a cut above the usual. The applied ribs were pinched when the vase was being formed -- no easy trick. Nice size at 5¼". Signed. Mint condition.

This shape is referred to as an inverted trumpet. It's not a rare shape, but it is rare to find it in blue, with a pulled feather decoration. It's a very nice example, in a mid-size, 10". (This shape comes in smaller and larger examples.)  Signed. Mint condition.

There is no acid-etching in this fabulous padded and wheel-carved vase.  All of the detail was hand-carved by the most skilled craftsmen. It required exceptional skill to achieve this level of beauty. The flowers and leaves have beautiful color and a level of detail only obtainable from hand-carving. 

The vase is heavy and substantial. The detailed cutting in the notched rim and the brilliant cut glass background is impressive. This museum quality piece is for the BEST collections. Signed "L.C.T. o3446" plus a scratched in "1708". Nice cabinet size at 6" diameter. Mint condition.

The two ways to make a vase into a cameo vase are either acid-etching or wheel-carving. By far, the most labor intensive is the latter. First the colored glass was applied by a second worker while the vase was molten. That step is called padding. Upon cooling, the vase was sent to a carver who manually carved the decoration from top to bottom. There is no acid-etching in this vase at all. It's totally wheel-carved and incredible. Nice size at 11¾" tall. Signed. Mint condition.

This candlelamp base is for the electric version.  (There are three versions -- candle, kerosene and electric.)  The hole is original from the factory for passing the wire through.  The iridescence on this example is exceptional.  Signed.  Mint condition.  (#50921)

Tiffany glass candlesticks are much rarer than bronze candlesticks. This low pair is gorgeous. The color is a very desirable pink. 4" tall. Signed. Mint condition.

The workmanship and beauty of this carved chalice is astonishing. Let me explain. First the three individual parts had to be hand-blown and assembled while the glass was molten. Then while still molten, the green glass was added. It then was iridized while hot. On cooling, it was transferred to a master craftsman, who meticulously carved all the detail in the grape leaves and clusters, as well as the leaf and vine decoration on the stem. Shiny vases are difficult to photograph.  Use the photo only as a guideline.  The vase is evenly colored over the entire body, except for the foot and the top rim, which are gold iridescent.  The true color is cobalt -- a rich color between blue and purple.  It's a rare, gorgeous vase, priced to sell.  Nice size at 8½" tall.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Extraordinary example of a blue compote.  First this is the rare large size with 8 flutes.  Second the silvery blue stretch glass contrasts beautifully with the base blue glass.  This is clearly evident in the photo.  Finally there is the intense blue-purple color in the cup and on the foot.  You could search high and low and never find a better one.  Signed.  Mint condition.  5½" tall x 7" diameter.  (#51127)

You would think from looking at my website that blue Tiffany glass is common, but quite the opposite.  I specialize in blue glass, so I have many more pieces than is common. Tiffany floriform compotes are not rare in gold but they are in blue.  They usually are small with five flutes.  This example is a rare larger size with eight flutes.  It's got the best blue color anyone could ask for.  The iridescence ranges from strong blue to deep purple in the cup and on the foot.  The stretch glass rim is superbly done.  All in all, the finest example of a Tiffany blue compote that I've had in many years.  Very nice large size at 5¼" tall x 7" diameter.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Tiffany Cypriote vases were recreations of ancient Roman glass that was dug out of the ground.  Sometimes the results were mediocre and sometimes exceptional, but all of them rare.  I can say with assurance that this example is the BEST Cypriote vase I've ever owned.  The workmanship and the color are fabulous!  It's for the very best collections.  6¼" tall.  Signed.  Mint condition.

Most Tiffany floriform compotes have 5 flutes and are considerably smaller than this superb example.  It has 8 flutes, with a height of 7" and a diameter of 8½".  The decoration on the body is a green pulled feather.  The interior has an excellent stretch glass, gold iridescent finish.  The foot is also gold iridescent.  Just a superior example.  Signed.  Mint condition.

I've been lucky to be able to buy some great Tiffany Favrile vases from one of the best collections in the US. This example is an important decorated vase with hooked feather decorations. The upper part of the body is dark brown and iridescent, while the lower section is mostly tan (agate-looking) and not iridescent. It's an important museum-quality vase. Nice size at 6¾". Signed. This vase is a cut above many other Tiffany Favrile decorated vases.  There are multiple decorations, including a double decoration around the waist, a scalloped decoration above the applied foot and a sprinkled iridescent stardust decoration descending from the top.  Additionally there is an internal glass swirl that coils around the vase.  Not bad!  9" tall.
