Other Makers, Macmonnies Pan Of Rohallion
Frederick MacMonnies, 1863-1937, was one of America's finest expatriate scultors. He was as famous in France as he was in the USA. His work is on exhibit at every major museum in the US including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
This lovely model, Pan of Rohallion, was cast in France, and comes in several sizes, this being the smallest at 10½". It's signed "F. MacMonnies 1890", together with the foundry seal of E. Gruet.
The condition is excellent with a rich patina.
