| Padded and wheel-carved vase | (view larger) | Padded and wheel-carved vases are more sophisticated than standard acid-etched vases. The flowers and buds are first applied as molten glass and then carved by hand with engraving wheels to get to the desired level of detail. Detail from wheel-carving can be very high, as evidenced in the close-up photo of the very pretty butterscotch-orange flowers. The green foot is a lovely offset to the color of the vase and represents the grass growing on the ground. It's a wonderful example of fine Daum work on a nice footed shape. 6¾" tall. Signed. Mint condition. | Price: Please inquire.

| Padded and wheel-carved vase | (view larger) | This is such a sweet vase, I don't know where to begin. Most importantly, the rosebuds were padded with molten pink glass and then deeply wheel-carved when the vase was cooled. The rest of the decoration on the vase was acid-etched. The shape is classically beautiful. The diminutive size of 6½", makes it especially attractive. This is a top-notch vase for the best collections. Signed. Mint condition. | Price: Please inquire.
