Daum Nancy, Mini Pitcher
Daum Nancy glass doesn't get much cuter than this covered mini pitcher, 3½" tall. It's a form that I'm not familiar with in this tiny size. It's beautifully hand-painted with a lovely Dutch scene, then fired, a technique called en grisaille. It's unusual that the signature is gilded on the underside DAUM NANCY, together with the Cross of Lorraine. I would have expected a black enamel signature. (For those interested in trivia, that means the artist would have had to change brushes to sign the piece when or she was already holding a black brush to paint the artwork. Hmm. Very interesting.) Mint condition.
