Chrysanthemums are very beautiful flowers, so it's not surprising that Gallé used them to decorate vases. This example has exceptional color and detail, which two huge flowers. Additionally the windowpane technique was used to frame the flowers, so the yellow color of the background doesn't mix with the blue of the flowers. (Otherwise the flowers would look green.) The shape is a really great rounded square, so it's both beautiful and very desirable. Nice cabinet size at 5¾" tall. Acid-etched cameo signature on the side of the vase Gallé. Mint condition.
