Gallé (Galle), Blownout Rowan Berry Vase

Gallé (Galle) blownout vases were produced in molds. Subject matter varies from flowers to fruit to animals. They are all rarer and more desirable than most vases that are not blownout. Standard acid-etching techniques were used after the molten glass was formed in a mold with compressed air. Each model comes in different color variations.

This example has very pretty yellow-orange rowan berries. The rowans, also known as mountain-ashes, are shrubs or trees in the genus Sorbus of the rose family, Rosaceae. Gallé (Galle) mostly used local flora for their subject matter, so that means they grew in France.

11¼" tall. Cameo signature on the side of the vase Gallé (Galle). Mint condition.
