The size of this A. Walter pâte-de-verre tray may be diminutive, but the quality is huge. It's a little beauty, with a colorful bumble bee. 4" long x 2½" wide. Signed. Mint condition.

Almeric Walter made beautiful depictions of insects and animals in pate-de-verre glass. This lovely tray, 5" long, has a colorful and realistic sienna-red beetle. It's small and fine. Signed "A. WALTER NANCY" and also by the decorator "BERGE". Mint condition.

The two best makers of French pâte-de-verre glass are Argy-Rousseau and Almaric Walter. Argy-Rousseau made more vases and Walter made more figural items. This Walter example has what collectors want - a lizard. Not sure which kind -- I think it's a chameleon. Walter's lizards are very realistic, colorful and beautiful. This lovely tray, with one lizard against yellow flowers and ivy leaves is exceptionally lovely. 6½" diameter. Signed A WALTER NANCY, the maker, and Bergé SC, the designer. Mint condition.

Almeric Walter is famous for his pâte-de-verre lizard vases and dishes. This is a wonderful example with beautiful color and a very realistic lizard. Haven't had this model since 2013. 8¾" tall. Signed both "A. Walter Nancy" and the designer "Bergé SC". Mint condition.

Almeric Walter produced more pate-de-verre figures than Argy-Rousseau, while Argy-Rousseau produced more vases than Walter. This little paperweight figurine is as cute as a button, with two mice (which is much rarer than Walter figurines with one mouse). It's colorful and in mint, unrestored condition. 2" tall x 3¼" diameter. Signed.

Almeric Walter is rightfully known for 3-dimensional sculptures of insects and animals. This delightful paperweight, 3¼" long, is exactly what makes Walter pate-de-verre items so desirable. The scarab is colorful and realistic. I just love this item. Signed. Mint condition.

I can't say enough about this incredible Almeric Walter pate-de-verre clock, but I'll try. First the great subject matter is killer, with an Art Deco nude and Art Deco background. Second is the condition -- totally original and mint. It's got the original French clock, in working condition. Third is the great color. Fourth is the weight -- solid glass and heavy. It's the total package. 5½" tall. Signed.

Covered items are always more desirable, simply because there are two pieces. Beautiful color with Art Deco stylized butterflies. This is a solid, very fine, heavy item. It's amazing that it's still in perfect condition, as the lid is often damaged. Signed. 5" tall.
